The Destination Wedding Experience

Chris being Norwegian, and Lisa being English, Norway was a wonderful choice for their wedding. They wanted to integrate Norway’s beauty into their love story and chose Aurland as their wedding location. Their British guests were impressed with the surroundings and everyone had a wonderful time exploring the country before and after the event. Chris has actually been in Vestlandet area before and he used to work as a dance student in Flåm, as a Huldra.

Time Of Year

At the end of September, the fjords of Norway start to shift from late summer to early autumn. The weather is cooler and more unpredictable — daytime temperatures are usually between 10–15°C, with chillier mornings and evenings. The weather adds a moody, dramatic beauty to the fjord landscapes. The autumn colors begin to appear, painting the valleys and hillsides in gold and rust tones, while the tourist crowds thin out, making it a quieter, more atmospheric time to visit.

Additional Wedding Experiences

Lisa & Chris decided to hire an elegant tipi tent for extra comfort, warmth and coziness. The tipi tent was beautifully set up in front of the Aurlandsfjord and they also had a big terrace to enjoy the outdoors and the view. We provided delicious regular and vegan catering that satisfied everyone’s needs. They chose a Vegan chocolate cake as their wedding cake, wonderfully decorated with raspberries.

Lisa & Chris chose to have a pizza corner at their wedding dinner, as late snacks. We provided pizza in collaboration with a local restaurant. They had a dedicated bartender throughout the night. And also chose to book a private after-party venue, right next to the dinner venue, so that they can party until late at night.

The couple hired a professional videographer to capture the entire wedding day.

Lisa & Chris had a traditional Norwegian fiddle player who played before and after the wedding ceremony. They hired a band during lunch, and a DJ for the after party. Chris secretly learned how to play Lisa’s passed Dad’s favourite song on his guitar and stole the show. He had a first dance choreography together with their best men and bridesmaids. They partied with the DJ like there was no tomorrow!

We arranged Vangsgaarden Hotel and Fjord Resort Apartments for the couple and all of their guests. We took care of all the reservations and room changes throughout the wedding planning process.
